Marcus Holden Australian Fiddler
Performing
I trained as a classical and jazz violinist but am at home with Celtic, bluegrass, gypsy and lots of other genres. It was in the mid 70s I amplified my violin and started to play blues, then rock, jazz, country etc. I started with a Fender Electric violin and went to violin bridge pickups. See Equipment for my instruments and set-ups. You can also read more about my journey through various stages of development with electronics in Read my story.
I perform with many diverse musical groups including: Fiddlers Feast, National Junk Band, Jugalug String Band, Warren Fahey, Merchants Of Menace, Annalisa Kerrigan and Scotland the Brave. I appear with Balcano and Diesel (Mark Lizotte)with Strings from time to time...
